Gender in the Workplace

This course explores the relationship between gender and other demographic characteristics, such as race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, and age. Participants will gain confidence in identifying and tackling key gender equality issues in the workplace, including becoming a champion of gender equality and knowing how to challenge inequalities and support colleagues. The course also examines the relationship between organizational culture and employee experiences in order to uncover strategies and examples of how to create more diverse and inclusive work environments.

Participants who complete the course will be able to

  • explore how our upbringing contributes to the formation of our gender and the impact gender has on our interactions
  • reflect on how issues related to gender affect the workplace in regards to decision-making, behaviours and relationships in your work environment
  • identify strategies and actions that we can take to foster attitudes and change behaviours to make a more gender equitable work environment
